Top 10 Favorite Films

Image
Hello people, today I want to talk about my 10 favorite movies ever. I don’t have a specific criterion in film: I could like a film for the story, for the emotions that it gives to me, for the message it sends. In this list you will find movies really different from each other. Here we go.  1) Django Unchained  As I said here , I love this movie. Quentin Tarantino is a genius. But the merit goes to Jamie Foxx, Christofer Waltz and Leonardo DiCaprio too. Two Oscar winners and “a half” that made this movie absolutely outstanding.   2) Moulin Rouge The soundtrack is the best part of the movie (as in every Luhrmann’s film). Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor are amazing together but my favorite part is “ El tango de Roxanne ”. I would watch that scene again and again and again.. My feelings will always be the same.  Baz Luhrmann is the director that never let me down. All his films are stunning with casts incredibly talented. 3) The Social Network This movie

All the single ladies, now put your hands up!

Image
Many women face this kind of problem at least once in their lives: you are happily living in a relationship with the “man of your life” and then he suddenly decides to move on to someone else.  The reaction to this event is always the same. Crying, shouting, insulting him, and believing that you can never find someone as good as him. And that’s the problem. Your goal is to find someone MUCH BETTER than him.  While I’m writing this post, I have in mind two of Beyoncé’s songs. The first one is “ Irreplaceable ”, and the second is “ Single Ladies ”. Still from "Irreplaceable" (2006) “Standing in the front yard telling me/ How I'm such a fool, talking about/ How I'll never ever find a man like you/ You got me twisted” . So true. Unfortunately, the world is plenty of men that practice cheating as a sport, so it’s really easy to find people like that.  Does it mean that we will stay forever alone? Maybe not. Maybe we will be so lucky as to find our “

Who's who: Leonardo Di Caprio

Image
I want to dedicate this post to the amazing Leonardo DiCaprio to celebrate his birthday today. Now he can be considered as a beautiful 40-year-old man that I will never have a chance with because he’s ‘just’ 20 years older than me (and it is not the only problem).  Everybody knows Leo DiCaprio for his outstanding interpretations as “Titanic” , “The Aviator” , “Shutter Island” , “Django Unchained” , “The Wolf of Wall Street” and also for his collaborations with great names of Hollywood like Martin Scorsese, James Cameron, Woody Allen, Quentin Tarantino.  But he’s also famous because of his bad luck at the Academic Awards. In fact, he was nominated 5 times, but he has never won even though his performances on the screen were absolutely terrifying (in a good way, of course).  Let’s see a few of my favorite DiCaprio’s films. Still from "Titanic" (1997) Leonardo started his career in the early ‘90s and his breakout was with “Titanic” in 1997. Really good

Slutty men are not cool, they're just d***heads!

Image
I've been wondering why there isn't a masculine version of the word "slut". There are several ways to say this word but all of them refer to girls.  So why if a girl flirts with lots of guys is she a slut, but if a guy does the same thing with girls he's really cool?  For many men, women are just prizes. Once they gain what they want, they put their little prize on a shelf. I don't understand why guys feel the need to flirt with every single girl around them. I think their motto is "Anything, as long as it breaths!" . Really sad, but very true. The fact is they think they are hot and charming and really good at flirting!  Guys, I feel sorry for you if nobody has explained this to you, but now it's up to me tell you that it's not like this. "You think you're a 10 but darling, you're barely a 3". And I'm not just talking about their physical appearance.  Men are like apples, they could be perfect outside, but t

Weapons banned from film sets in Italy

Image
The italian Interior Minister Angelino Alfano banned from film sets all types of weapons and guns. Many productions - that have been really successful in Italy like “Gomorra” or “Romanzo Criminale” - are going through a dark period because of this reform.  In my lowly and modest opinion, I think this act is an extremely huge bullshit. I’m italian and I know what’s going on in my Country and I’m pretty sure that there are worst things to deal with than forbid to use weapons on films.  It is a shame not only because we are the inventors of the “Spaghetti Western” - and with this reform we cannot produce them anymore - but also because we are slowly losing our freedom. Dear italian politicians, I just want to say that you are ruining our country.  Sincerely, a proud and disappointed italian girl.

The Hateful Eight by Quentin Tarantino

Image
The official poster He's back! After the outstanding success of " Django Unchained " (2012), Quentin Tarantino will return back on big screens with "The Hateful Eight" that will come out at the end of 2015.  After confirming that he would not be proceeding with the film last January because a draft of the script circulated illegally online, Mr Tarantino changed (fortunately) his mind and announced at the San Diego Comic Con that the production of this film will begin soon. He organized an event to read in public the script available online and decided to re-write a new one (to the delight of his fans).  Recently the cast has been announced: there are great returns - like Samuel L. Jackson and Tim Roth - but also new entries that have never worked with Quentin Tarantino like Jennifer Jason Leigh, Demian Bichir and - believe it or not - the handsome Channing Tatum! For further information about the plot of the film, you can look here .  I

Off-topic: Women don't lose your Dignity.

Image
Still from "Breaking the girls" (2013) I just want to say a thing to all the women out there: I don't care if you drink the entire bar and get drunk when you go out, it's up to you. But I just have a little request. Please, please don't lose your dignity.  I'm a 19-year-old woman and unfortunately I saw many girls that have my same age getting totally drunk and losing control, bitching around, twerking on guys' faces or kissing randomly boys and girls. Saying these things, I don't mean that girls can't have one-night stands with more than a guy. Everyone is free to do whatever they want because we fortunately live in a free country, but please do it with consciousness. It's so sad seeing girls after they had sex with boys (that they don't even know) that don't remember a single thing about what happened.  Still from "Lizzie Borden's Revenge" (2014) I don't know why certain girls act like that

Who’s who: Jean Dujardin

Image
Jean Dujardin in "La French" Talented, hilarious, charming. Just a few qualities that perfectly describe Jean Dujardin.  French actor, he started his career in a talk show in 1996 but we saw him on the big screen for the first time in 2002 with “À l'abri des regards indiscrets”.  In 2011 we can assist at his breakthrough with “The Artist”. The film received many awards - including the Academic Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role - and Dujardin became really popular in America and in the rest of Europe. He got a role in films with big Hollywood names like Martin Scorsese and Leonardo Di Caprio ( “The Wolf Of Wall Street” ) or also George Clooney and Bill Murray ( “Monuments Men” ).  I think he’s so popular now not only for his talent but also because he’s different. Jean Dujardin is the European man who went to conquer the United States with his sense of humor and its wonderful French charm. He turns the tables in a world made up of six-pack-men.
