Yik Yak Part 2

Image
I don't know if I should be surprised about the popularity of the post that I published yesterday. I received an enormous amount of views in just a couple of hours and also I've been honoured with an anonymous comment by   someone on Yik Yak!  At least now I know that people actually read my stuff.  Now, it is obvious that there are people that love insulting other people with the advantage of anonymity but this is a blog post and, like many other blogs on the web, it has a section dedicated for comments. If you don't want to comment there, you can also use Facebook, send me a message or comment below the post.  I don't even understand why you're angry about it. I just expressed my opinion in the politest way possible. If you want you can contact me and tell me why you strongly disagree with me and explain why  insulting people anonymously is right for you. I'm always open to any confrontation.

The dangers of Yik Yak.

Image
It's a long time since I wrote my last blog post but for a couple of weeks I've been thinking to write something to express my opinion about a specific subject.  Yik Yak . Everyone knows this "new" social network that allows you to post whatever you want anonymously and share it with people that live in the same area.  It could be fun talking to people, exchanging opinions with them and comments about common subjects, like for example same university or course or town.  But it's not that fun when people abuse of their anonymity to insult or make fun of other people. As I think you know, I attend the University of Buckingham and if you have a look at Yik Yak in these area you'll notice that the only people who po sts stuff on there are students. Obviously I'm not saying that every post is made to make fun of other people. There are several posts that are actually funny. Now, I think that you can say whatever

"Bad Blood" by Taylor Swift - REVIEW

Image
It came out a couple of days ago but it already is the video of the year.  Taylor Swift like no one's ever seen her.  A sexy soldier ready to avenge women’s world along with other beautiful women such as Cindy Crawford, Karlie Kross, Lena Dunham, Selena Gomez, Hailee Steinfeld and many more.  Personally I don't like the video. Or more accurately, I don't like the final result of the video. The idea was good, but I find it extremely awkward. Watching it make me immediately realise how it doesn't suit Taylor.  She looks like a sexy but awkward woman that tries to shake the good girl reputation off from herself and wants to be part of a more progressive world. But it's not for her. Taylor is undoubtedly gorgeous and stunning, but not naughty.  The latex dress is not her thing.  About the video, it let me down because, after all that advertising and the announcement of a great cast, it just was a 4 minutes video with extremely fake fighting moves.

My Journey Through the Harry Potter Studios

Hey! Recently I've been to the Harry Potter Studios in London and I wanted to share my amazing adventure with you and with all the Potterhead that don't have the chance to go there. Enjoy! P.S. I'm a Gryffindor now!

Avengers: Age Of Ultron [SPOILER ALERT]

Image
It happened. I finally watched "Avengers: Age of Ultron".  What can I say? It was epic, like all Marvel's movies, but I have a couple of things to say.  I absolutely love the beginning. It's classic Marvel-style. And I also liked the party scene.  It was a different way of seeing our heroes. No armours, no shields, no cloaks.  Just the Avengers in a "normal" life context. For the first time we saw Black Widow having feelings for someone. Furthermore, we saw again my beloved Falcon/Sam Wilson who I missed so much.  These scenes made " Avengers: Age of Ultron" feel different from any other Marvel films. But unfortunately, it didn't last for the whole movie.  Just watch the last scene of the film to understand what I mean.  I would divide the final battle in two part: the already-seen part and the epic part. The beginning of the battle is something that remind me the last scenes of "Captain America: The Winter Sol

#KylieJennerChallenge

Image
During the last week, the hashtag #KylieJennerChallenge has become really popular on Twitter, followed by videos or pictures that depict girls of all ages creating a vacuum with jars trying to imitate the lips of the famous-but-we-don't-know-why girl. Now, the web is full with stuff like that: First of all, how did this thing become a trend? And more importantly, why? It is extremely dangerous for the health and it can cause permanent damage to the lips. I found loads of pictures with bruises or worse that I will not post on this blog because are too extreme and disgusting. Society makes people famous because of its stupidity and ignorance. That's how people like Kylie Jenner are famous and adored worldwide. She is 17, she had more surgery than Sylvester Stallone and she's famous just because her parents are Bruce and Kris Jenner (that Kris Jenner, famous because she gave birth to Kourtney, Kim and Khloé Kardashian). Amongst all these awful videos,

10 curiosities you have to know about The Avengers: Age of Ultron

Image
Are you excited to watch Marvel's new movie "Avengers: Age of Ultron"? Well, me too. I waited for so long and finally the day is close! Before watching it, here are 10 curiosities you must know about the Behind-the-Scenes. 1) To avoid Scarlett Johansson's baby bump being seen, the production casted three stand-ins of the beautiful actress. It confounded people on set, especially Chris Evans, who confused one of the doubles with his long-time friend. 2) Tony Stark will be armoured in his Mark XLIII , the new version of the Mark 42 . What are the differences? Exchangeable face, LED light-up eyes, arc reactor and a new range of repulsors. 3) James Spader, who will play Ultron, was chosen for this role thanks to his "calming and hypnotic voice". 4) In Seoul, to film the most extreme and special scenes, they used drones and remote control cars. 5) The costumes used in the film were created by the sports clothing line Unde

Girl Crush: Emilia Clarke

Image
Today I would like to talk about Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen in "Game of Thrones").  I have to say that I'm not a huge fan of GoT and that I'm still watching the second season but Emilia Clarke is one of the reasons why I keep watching it.  I have a crush on her character. As Emilia said:  "Throughout the season she’s had an insane transformation from someone who barely even spoke and timidly did everything her brother said into a mother of dragons and a queen of armies and a killer of slave masters."  Well, that's a life goal.  I absolutely love her character's style, especially that long and blond/white hair. I even thought I might dye my hair like hers at a certain point in my life.  But Emilia is more than her character. In fact, she looks totally different because of her long brown/dark hair. Even in her everyday life she's just outstanding. Normal clothes, make-up free, and she's still beautiful. How does she do

How to ruin hipster posts

Image
You just need a cool photo and a stupid sentence that has nothing to do with the background to have a hipster picture that everyone will share on their social network. It makes them feel smart.  But what if someone would add a caption to these pictures? Here there are some hilarious results.

Poldark and the Missing Shirt.

Image
I think it should be the name of the second season of " Poldark " ( BBCOne ). Yes because with the exception of the first episode, if I'm not wrong, Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner) always finds a good reason to be shirtless.  At this point, I'm not complaining at all. But there's a triumph of hormones across the U.K. every Sunday, no matter if you're 14 or 90.  Mr Turner didn't even go to the gym to play this role. He is not the stereotypical man "all abs, no talent". He has no waxed or huge chest. But he has that sex appeal that will make you fall at his feet. And he's extremely talented. He jumps from a role to another, challenging himself by playing characters that are always different.  He goes from this... ... to this...  ... And this... ... And this one... ... let's not forget about this one... ... And obviously, this one... ... Should I give up with my degree and become a make-up artist? I'm a
