I just want to say a thing: thank you Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to have created one of the most brightest and intriguing character of the entire worldwide literature. Sherlock Holmes is a figure that  divide people since when the first novel came out in 1887: you absolutely love him or you totally hate him (just because you are not as smart as he is). Since 1900, when film industry did its first steps, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s novels inspired many productions. During the last years of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st, there was a lack of attention towards this character and his loyal companion Dr John Watson. So, how can the film industry bring back a masterpiece like Sherlock Holmes without making it boring or just a nostalgic stuff for old people? Simple question. Just take two of the most payed Hollywood sex symbols, Robert Downey Jr as Sherlock Holmes and Jude Law as John Watson, and the success is assured! It’s weird how two middle-aged men can attract more teenage girls than a random member of One Direction.

Anyway, the Hollywood version of Sherlock Holmes is not enough due to Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat. In fact, these two English men decided to create a tv series and named it “Sherlock” (simple but effective). It is set in the modern London, so for the first time we can see Mr Holmes and Dr Watson dealing with computers, smartphones and other electronic stuff. Knowing just these details, it seems pretty cool because it’s a different view of the ‘800s character. But how to make it more catchy? Due to the theory proved by Hollywood film industry about the middle-aged men, Moffat and Gatiss decided to hire two of the most British and fascinating men ever: Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman.

This tv series keep struggling the hearts of its many fans since 2010. The idea of the producers is to film three episode of 90 minutes for each season. The big problem is that for a new season, the Sherlock fan base has to wait two years. So after 5 years, there are only 9 episodes available. We can say that the Cuckoo Boohoo have more fans than the number of episodes of Sherlock. I bet you’re thinking “Who the hell are the Cuckoo Boohoo?”. Well, that’s the point. So if you really care about your safety, please don’t ask questions about this delicate situation. The worst thing you can ask to a ‘Sherlock’ fan is: ‘Which are your ten favorite episodes?’. Fortunately, the producers announced that Sherlock will come back with a Christmas special in 2015 and a new season in 2016. So, dear Sherlock fans, my advice for you is to keep waiting (and to be really really strong!).
